the elevator pitch

Killer creative
When it comes to leading creative teams and agencies to deliver work that seizes attention and drives results, I am a Zen master.

Powerful relationships
I delve deep to understand the desires, needs, and motivations of customers and then design strategies that help brands build enduring relationships.

Fierce loyalty
I believe in building people up, removing barriers, and giving them the runway to do their best work. I foster teams that have each other’s backs and share the load.

Irrepressible optimism
Tell me it can’t be done and I’ll prove you wrong. There’s nothing I love more than facing a challenge, analyzing every angle, and finding the way forward.

Rygg Consulting  |  2000 – now

Brand Strategist, Creative Director, and Writer
Putting my creative chops to work for clients, agencies, and friends in need for more years than I care to count. Whether you need fast copy, big ideas or a bit of both, I'm ready to get to work.

New Western  |  November 2018 – May 2022

Senior Director of Marketing
I took on a new industry and fell in love with the world of real estate investing. I owned branding, messaging, and creative development for New Western and Sherman Bridge Lending. I turned around our online reputation, rolled out a national event strategy, added PR to my repertoire, and rebranded the company in the middle of a global pandemic. I tackled new challenges every day and when I was done I asked for more.

Rent-A-Center  |  April 2017 – March 2018

Senior Director, Brand Marketing
I directed every aspect of creative and messaging for the Rent-A-Center brand. I oversaw multi-million dollar budgets and managed relationships with our agencies. I revitalized our brand positioning in Puerto Rico and launched a new employer brand in the U.S. I did it all while building a team that never stopped striving to be better than we were the day before.

Redonk Marketing  |  July 2013 – March 2015

Creative and Brand Strategist/Associate Creative Director
I obsessed over the customer experience and helped lead an amazing team to deliver great work for our clients. Add a sprinkle of social marketing, a bunch of creative strategy, lots of laughter and an abundance of coffee, and you have a pretty good idea of what my day-to-day looked like.

Javelin  |  April 2007 – July 2013

Associate Creative Director/Senior Copywriter
I looked at the big picture and the details. I concepted, collaborated, presented, convinced, motivated, and sold. I mentored my team, I supported my CD and I made clients happy. I did it all day, every day. And I loved every minute of it.

CompUSA  |  May 2006 – April 2007

Creative Manager
I started thinking about the pictures as well as the words. I managed a team of 18 creatives, acted as my Creative Director’s right hand, and collaborated with our CMO. I presented creative to the CEO and found out that you really can appear confident — even with a stomach full of butterflies.

Javelin and Rapp Collins  |  September 2005 – May 2006

Senior Copywriter
I switched from in-house to agency, from print to digital. I learned a new brand (Bank of America) and a new medium (email). I was introduced to the world of direct mail. And when the account moved to Rapp, they got me in the deal.

CompUSA  |  July 2000 – September 2005

Copy Supervisor/Copywriter
I learned that being a leader is hard work, but worth it. I got excited about big hard drives, fast RAM, and high burn speeds. I wrote copy for all things print, created the copy style guide, and managed a team of 6 writers.

JCPenney  |  October 1999 – July 2000

Copywriter
I was young. I was green. Thankfully, someone thought I had potential. The women’s catalog team took me in and taught me to write for my dinner. I used the line “the pleasure of pleather” and got away with it. I still don’t know what they were thinking.

shoutouts

“From the first time I met Meghan I was impressed and hired her on the spot. She has continued to impress me with her keen sense of strategy, smart writing and strong work ethic. No matter the ask, she consistently delivers. She has a knack for getting to the heart of any problem quickly and developing compelling creative that works. Clients and colleagues respect and love her.

Robert Boman | Executive Creative Director, Teladoc Health

“An extra rare talent, highly skilled in combining an ‘Ad Agency heart’ with a ‘McKinnseyian mind’. Meghan truly excels in providing creative direction, always staying true to the brand strategy. She is a natural leader focused on getting the best out of her team and partners.”

Leonardo Basterra | Parter, The Voice Society

I had the pleasure of working alongside Meghan to drive change for an established retail brand, Rent-A-Center. Her dedication, work style and ability to tap into customer insights were stand out. I was impressed at how quickly she learned the target, established a brand voice and created more meaningful touchpoints for our customers. A true senior leader who leads by example.“

Sarah Phillips | Vice President Marketing, Rent-A-Center

“Meghan is adept at translating consumer segment needs into ideas for brand strategies that drive the business. When faced with a complex problem, Meghan is the person you’ll want to turn to. She is a good listener, a strong leader and most importantly; decisive. She is a valued and trusted partner to anyone who is privileged enough to work with her.”

Maria Tapias | Partner, The Voice Society

“Meghan is a rare gem. Not only is she an incredibly talented writer, she also has the ability to see beyond 'the work' to see the need and apply strategic thought into her writing. She is cerebral and goes above and beyond to understand the product, the service, the ask, etc. and then take it a step further to make it all smarter, sharper and simply better than we could have imagined. She has the ability to manage work, manage people, build client relationships while also providing her own writing. Rare indeed. Any company and team is lucky to have her!”

Laura Chisum | Senior Account Director, Data Axle
